BIOGRAPHY

Although Gigi grew up surrounded by people with artistic abilities, she never considered pursuing art herself until she took an elective art class in her early college years at thirty-two. This experience sparked a deep appreciation for painting as a new form of expression, one that allowed Gigi to go within herself in search of clarity. Painting became her way of communicating when words failed her. It wasn’t until many years later when Gigi decided to go back to school to pursue her BFA, that she was able to really hone in on her work. She found herself drawn to the abstraction, bold colors and subjective expression of post-impressionist painters which continue to influence her work. She views her art as an ongoing exploration, constantly searching for new ways to interpret the many ideas that swirl in her mind. Gigi refuses to limit herself to any one medium or concept, as her inspirations and ideas are always evolving. Among Gigi’s modern artist influencers are Hope Gangloff, and Linda Christensen, whose work inspires her. Whether she is creating figurative or abstract pieces, Gigi embraces loose, open-ended narratives, inviting viewers to interpret her work in their own way. Her art is an interplay of color, form, and playful experimentation, allowing each piece to unfold with its own unique energy. Gigi looks forward to embracing a lifestyle that is rooted in art. A community that fosters personal expression and creativity, one that values authenticity.
